Daily Fallout 76 Briefing - June 17, 2026

Decryption Daily Ops in Vault 94 pits you against Fanatics with Savage Strike and Resilient mutations — sustained DPS is essential to beat their health regen. Fish in the Mire or Toxic Valley to knock out the daily fishing challenge and progress the Banded Axolotl monthly goal at the same time. Double SCORE, Double Mutations, Treasure Hunter, and Legendary Sale kicks off tomorrow at noon ET.

Active Events Today

Banded Axolotl of the Month — Mire & Toxic Valley

June 2 – July 7, 2026 The Banded Axolotl is June's catchable axolotl species, available as a small fish in the Mire and Toxic Valley regions. Fishing in either area today also completes the "Catch a Fish (x3)" daily challenge, making it a two-for-one run. Nineteen days remain in the window — (Double SCORE, Double Mutations, Treasure Hunter, and Legendary Sale begins tomorrow, June 18 at noon ET.)

Today's Daily Ops

ModeDecryption
LocationVault 94
EnemiesFanatics
MutationsSavage Strike, Resilient

Mutation breakdown:

  • Savage Strike — Enemies deal increased melee damage on close contact; keep Fanatics at range and avoid letting them swarm the objective area, as a single exchange at melee distance will be costly.
  • Resilient — Enemies regenerate health when not under sustained fire; once you begin damaging a target, maintain consistent pressure to prevent recovery between attacks.

Strategy: Decryption mode requires locating and defending the decryption objective against incoming enemy waves. Clear Fanatics from around the objective before engaging the next wave — do not let them stack up while you are focused on the terminal. Savage Strike makes close-quarters fighting expensive, so hold a ranged position and use V.A.T.S. or sustained fire to down enemies before they close in. Resilient rewards uninterrupted damage output; high fire-rate weapons and builds with strong DPS uptime perform best here, as prolonged pauses between attacks allow wounded Fanatics to recover. Vault 94's corridor layout lets you control sightlines — hold a chokepoint near the objective rather than pushing into open areas.

Today's Daily Challenges

ChallengeSCORE
Gold Star: Complete a Daily Challenge (x6)1000
Collect a Lighter, Cigarette or Cigar (x5)250
Catch a Fish (x3)250
Collect a box of Sugar Bombs250
Eat Pre-war Food (x5)250
Kill a Rust Raider (x5)250
Kill an Enemy with any Shotgun (x8)250

Quick completion tips:

  • Gold Star: Complete a Daily Challenge (x6) — All six non-Gold-Star challenges must be completed to trigger the Gold Star bonus; today's set is achievable in a single focused session covering Burning Springs for Rust Raiders, a fishing hole in the Mire, and basic looting for lighter/cigar and Sugar Bombs items.
  • Collect a Lighter, Cigarette or Cigar (x5) — These junk items spawn on desks, countertops, and shelves in houses, motel rooms, and raider camps; Grafton, Morgantown residential areas, and Whitespring hotel rooms all have reliable clusters.
  • Catch a Fish (x3) — Any fishing hole in Appalachia works; head to the Mire or Toxic Valley to simultaneously progress the Banded Axolotl monthly challenge while knocking out all three required catches.
  • Collect a box of Sugar Bombs — One box satisfies this challenge; kitchens in Flatwoods homes, the Morgantown Airport cafeteria, and Whitespring hotel rooms all have consistent spawns. Sugar Bombs also count as pre-war food, so eating one counts toward the next challenge.
  • Eat Pre-war Food (x5) — Sugar Bombs, Blamco Mac & Cheese, Pork n' Beans, Cram, and Salisbury Steak all qualify; loot kitchen containers on any route and eat five items from your stash to complete this quickly.
  • Kill a Rust Raider (x5) — Rust Raiders are found throughout Burning Springs; Checkpoint Canyon, the Rust Kingdom, and the Abraxodyne Chemical Power Substation area all have reliable enemy density for fast kills.
  • Kill an Enemy with any Shotgun (x8) — Any shotgun satisfies this; combine with the Rust Raider daily by switching to a shotgun in Burning Springs, or use a shotgun during the Daily Ops run to collect kills against Fanatics in Vault 94.

Quick completion hints:

  • Complete a Gold Star Daily Challenge! (x3) — Requires three separate daily resets; earn today's by completing all six non-Gold-Star daily challenges, then repeat on Thursday and Friday to reach three total.
  • Repeatable Under Rank 100: Gain XP (x10000) — A single Daily Ops run in Vault 94 yields several thousand XP; two runs or a chain of public events fills this for the day.
  • Repeatable at Rank 100 or above: Complete a Public Event (x3) — Any three public event completions clear this; Rad Rumble, Eviction Notice, and Tea Time populate quickly on active servers.
  • Buy an item from or Sell an item to another Player (x15) — Each individual player vendor transaction counts separately; make small purchases at player stalls across server hops, or stock your own vendor with cheap items and let transactions accumulate over the week.
  • Collect Caps (x2500) — Public events, NPC vendor sales, and looting contribute; playing through Rust Raider farming in Burning Springs and completing public events fills this naturally without dedicated grinding.
  • Complete a Grunt Hunt (x10) — Each completed Daily Ops run counts as one Grunt Hunt completion; run today's Decryption mode at Vault 94 across the week, spreading runs to accumulate 10 total completions.
  • Consume an Alcoholic Beverage (x20) — Beer, wine, bourbon, whiskey, and similar items are sold by NPC vendors across Appalachia and looted from homes and bars; drink them in batches from your stash across multiple sessions.
  • Craft any Plushie at a Tinkerer's Bench (x3) — Any three plushie crafts qualify; Fiber Optics and Cloth are the primary materials, and plushie plans are available from NPC vendors in Appalachia.
  • Kill a Mole Miner (x30) — Mole Miners cluster in the Ash Heap; Garrahan Mining Headquarters, the Abandoned Mine Shafts near Welch, and Lewisburg all provide reliable farming density for stacking kills efficiently.
  • Kill a Rust Raider (x30) — Pairs directly with today's daily challenge; farm Checkpoint Canyon, the Rust Kingdom, and the Abraxodyne Chemical Power Substation in Burning Springs across the week to reach 30 kills.
  • Mod an Energy Weapon (x5) — Visit a Weapons Workbench with five energy weapons (laser rifle, plasma pistol, Gatling Plasma, etc.) and apply any modification to each; even a barrel or grip swap counts, and five quick mods across multiple weapons satisfies this in one workbench session.
  • Scrap junk to produce Acid (x15) — Abraxo Cleaner (regular and industrial strength), Bags of Cement, and Wonderglue all yield Acid when scrapped; NPC vendors across Appalachia stock cheap Abraxo Cleaner for bulk purchase and scrapping.
  • Scrap junk to produce Adhesive (x15) — Wonderglue, Duct Tape, Economy Wonderglue, and Economy Duct Tape all yield Adhesive when scrapped; Duct Tape is sold by most NPC vendors if your junk supply is running low.
