Banded Axolotl (June Axolotl of the Month)

June 2 – July 7, 2026

Today's Daily Ops

ModeUplink
LocationCommunity Center
EnemiesFanatics
MutationsPiercing Gaze, Freezing Touch

Mutation breakdown:

  • Piercing Gaze — Enemies detect players through stealth and invisibility effects. Chameleon armor, Sneak perks, and cloaking consumables will not hide you from Fanatics in this run.
  • Freezing Touch — Enemies apply cryo on melee contact, slowing or briefly freezing you when they land a hit. Any Fanatic that reaches melee range will lock your movement on impact.

Strategy: Uplink requires activating beacons around the location and holding them while waves of Fanatics try to deactivate them. With Piercing Gaze active, stealth approaches are not viable — position openly near each beacon before the wave arrives rather than trying to flank unseen. Freezing Touch means melee-range Fanatics will slow you, so keep distance with ranged weapons and reposition when enemies push in. Fire damage clears cryo effects faster and helps maintain mobility throughout the run.

Complete a Daily Operation!250
Consume any Chems (x2)250
Harvest a Firecap (x5)250

Quick completion tips:

  • Gold Star: Complete a Daily Challenge (x6): Complete any 6 of the other listed daily challenges and this credits automatically — finishing all six non-Gold-Star challenges today satisfies it.
  • Drink Tea: Craft and drink any Tea item at a Cooking Station. Sweet Tea requires 1 Boiled Water and 1 Sugar Berry; check your existing food inventory before heading to a station in case you already have one.
  • Complete a Daily Operation!: Run today's Daily Ops (Uplink, Community Center, Fanatics). Completing the operation to any tier credits this challenge.
  • Consume any Chems (x2): Use any 2 chems from your inventory — RadAway, Stimpak, Jet, or any basic chem counts. No crafting required if you have items on hand.
  • Harvest a Firecap (x5): Firecap mushrooms grow in the Savage Divide and Ash Heap. Check rocky hillsides and cave entrances around the Ash Heap for dense clusters; the Mire also has scattered spawns near water.
  • Kill a Floater (x3): Floaters spawn in the Mire near water sources and in the Cranberry Bog. The wetlands around Watoga in the Cranberry Bog give reliable Floater encounters.
  • Kill a Snallygaster (x3): Snallygasters roam the Forest and Savage Divide. The Point Pleasant Memorial area and river banks near Vault 76 have consistent spawns.

Kill a Mirelurk (x30)1000 XP
Kill an Enemy during an Infestation while on a Team (x10)1000 XP

Quick completion hints:

  • Complete a Gold Star Daily Challenge! (x3): Complete 6 daily challenges each day for three separate days — Gold Star credits automatically when you finish your 6th daily per day.
  • Build light sources in a Workshop or C.A.M.P. (x9): Place any 9 light objects (floor lamps, lanterns, lamp posts, wall sconces) at your CAMP or a claimed Workshop. Scrapping and rebuilding in the same session still counts.
  • Collect a Board Game (x4): Board games such as Blast Radius and Grognak & the Ruby Ruins appear on tables and shelves in homes and resort buildings. Whitespring Resort rooms and Watoga's residential blocks have consistent spawns.
  • Collect a Burnt Book (x25): Burnt Books are found in burned and ruined structures across Appalachia. The Ash Heap around Beckley and Mount Blair has dense clusters — combine this trip with Firecap harvesting for efficiency.
  • Complete an Infestation while on a Team (x5): Join an Exploration Public Team and travel together to Infestation markers on the Paper Map. Multiple Infestations run simultaneously per world, so a focused session can clear all five quickly.
  • Kill an Enemy during an Infestation while on a Team (x10): Clearing 2–3 Infestations with your team satisfies both this and "Complete an Infestation while on a Team (x5)" in the same session.
  • Craft Ammo at a Workbench (x250): Bulk craft .38 or 5.56 rounds at an Ammo Workbench — common materials make this a fast single-session task.
  • Craft any Chems (x6): Craft 6 Stimpaks, RadAway, or Rad-X at a Chemistry Station. Diluted Stimpaks count and use fewer materials per craft.
  • Kill a Mirelurk (x30): Head to the Mire river systems or the Point Pleasant area for dense Mirelurk spawns. Server-hop if a location runs thin.
  • Sell a Weapon to an NPC vendor (x15): Any NPC vendor accepts weapons — vendor bots at Vault 76, Flatwoods, or any faction settlement work. Carry a stack of looted low-condition weapons to clear this in one stop.
