Daily Fallout 76 Briefing - May 24, 2026
The Big Bloom continues through June 2 with insect kills and event completions driving both daily and weekly challenges. Decryption hits West Tek today with Savage Strike and Swift-Footed mutations — range favored. Minerva's Big Sale ends tomorrow at noon ET; T-65 and Solar Armor plans are available at Whitespring for the last time this cycle.
Active Events Today
The Big Bloom Event
May 19 – June 2, 2026
Defend oversized mutated flowers from waves of insects in the Forest region for unique rewards including rare plans and cosmetics. This event drives the majority of this week's daily and weekly challenges — completing it five times and killing 30 insects inside the event will knock out multiple weeklies simultaneously.
Minerva's Big Sale (List 12) and Murmrgh's Special Pick
May 21 – May 25, 2026
Minerva is currently at Whitespring with the monthly Big Sale — her largest combined stock of the rotation. This sale ends tomorrow at noon ET. See the Minerva section for the full inventory.
Today's Daily Ops
| Mode | Decryption |
| Location | West Tek Research Center |
| Enemies | Communists |
| Mutations | Savage Strike, Swift-Footed |
Mutation breakdown:
- Savage Strike: Enemies deal increased melee damage and attack more rapidly at close range.
- Swift-Footed: Enemies move significantly faster, closing distance before you can react.
Strategy: Decryption mode tasks you with locating and using terminals to decode enemy intel while waves of enemies push on your position. At West Tek, Communist enemies with Savage Strike and Swift-Footed will sprint to melee range and hit hard once they arrive — ranged builds (auto rifles, plasma weapons, explosives) have a clear advantage here. Use the Research Center's corridors to create chokepoints and funnel enemies into tighter kill zones. Keep Stimpaks slotted and stay mobile; getting cornered by Swift-Footed enemies with Savage Strike active is a fast death.
Today's Daily Challenges
| Challenge | SCORE |
|---|---|
| Gold Star: Complete a Daily Challenge (x6) | 1000 |
| Collect RadAway or Rad-X (x5) | 250 |
| Collect Caps (x250) | 250 |
| Complete the Event: "The Big Bloom" | 250 |
| Harvest a Firecracker Berry (x5) | 250 |
| Kill a Brahmin (x2) | 250 |
| Kill an Enemy in the Forest Region (x5) | 250 |
| Visit another Player's Shelter | 250 |
Quick completion tips:
- Gold Star: Complete a Daily Challenge (x6): Knock out the other seven challenges first — completing any six of them unlocks this automatically.
- Collect RadAway or Rad-X (x5): Craft RadAway at any Chemistry Station (requires Glowing Fungus and Plastic), or loot from containers in irradiated areas and hospital buildings like Morgantown Hospital.
- Collect Caps (x250): Passive progress — sell junk, weapons, or chems to your vendor stall or any NPC vendor while working through other challenges.
- Complete the Event: "The Big Bloom": The public event spawns in the Forest region and appears on your map automatically. Completing it also progresses the weekly "Complete the Event: The Big Bloom (x5)" challenge.
- Harvest a Firecracker Berry (x5): Berry bushes appear along rivers and wooded areas in the Forest region, particularly near the Overseer's Camp and along the New River Gorge corridor.
- Kill a Brahmin (x2): Brahmin roam near Flatwoods, the Vault 76 area, and many player CAMPs — any weapon counts.
- Kill an Enemy in the Forest Region (x5): Any five kills in the Forest biome count. Heading to the Big Bloom event area gives dense enemy spawns that cover this and the Firecracker Berry in one trip.
- Visit another Player's Shelter: Open the social or map menu, look for a player camp with a shelter entrance, and walk inside — this completes instantly on entry.
Weekly Challenges
| Challenge | Reward |
|---|---|
| Complete a Gold Star Daily Challenge! (x3) | 1500 SCORE |
| Repeatable Under Rank 100: Gain XP (x10000) | 100 SCORE |
| Repeatable at Rank 100 or above: Complete a Public Event (x3) | 300 SCORE |
| Build light sources in a Workshop or C.A.M.P. (x9) | 1000 SCORE |
| Collect Caps (x2500) | 1000 SCORE |
| Collect a Teapot (x5) | 1000 SCORE |
| Collect a Teddy Bear (x9) | 1000 SCORE |
| Complete the Event: "The Big Bloom" (x5) | 1000 SCORE |
| Kill a Mirelurk (x30) | 1000 SCORE |
| Kill an Insect during The Big Bloom Event (x30) | 1000 SCORE |
| Plant a Crop in a Workshop or C.A.M.P. (x25) | 1000 SCORE |
| Sell Scorchbeast Steak to an NPC vendor | 1000 SCORE |
Quick completion hints:
- Complete a Gold Star Daily Challenge! (x3): Earns one Gold Star per daily reset — three consecutive days of completing six dailies finishes this weekly.
- Build light sources in a Workshop or C.A.M.P. (x9): Open your CAMP build menu under Decorations → Lighting and place lanterns, bottle lights, or spotlights; they cost minimal materials and the count stacks across placements.
- Collect a Teapot (x5): Check shelves, tables, and counters in houses throughout the Forest and Ash Heap regions — Morgantown college buildings and residential neighborhoods frequently spawn them.
- Collect a Teddy Bear (x9): Found on beds, shelves, and in containers in residential buildings; player shelters and vendor CAMPs often have cluster spawns worth checking.
- Complete the Event: "The Big Bloom" (x5): Active through June 2 in the Forest region. Join public servers to find events in progress — five runs is very achievable before the event ends.
- Kill an Insect during The Big Bloom Event (x30): Insects spawn throughout the Big Bloom public event. Running the event five times for the completion challenge will naturally yield close to or all 30 insect kills at the same time.
- Kill a Mirelurk (x30): Head to Summersville Lake, Solomon's Pond, or the rivers in the Mire region — all have dense Mirelurk spawns that respawn quickly.
- Plant a Crop in a Workshop or C.A.M.P. (x25): Build crop planters (corn, tatos, mutfruit) in your CAMP from the Resources → Food menu. You can scrap and rebuild them to stack the count faster.
- Sell Scorchbeast Steak to an NPC vendor: Scorchbeasts spawn near active nuke zones in the Cranberry Bog and Savage Divide (Thunder Mountain area is a reliable spot). The steak has a low drop rate — nuke a zone to trigger multiple Scorchbeast spawns and maximize attempts.
