Daily Fallout 76 Briefing - May 19, 2026
The Big Bloom launches today, flooding Appalachia with insects through June 2 and anchoring most of this week's challenges. Daily Ops runs Decryption at Arktos Pharma Biome Labs against Blood Eagles under Savage Strike and Volatile. The Atomic Shop resets with Wicker Mothman Bundle and Mothman-themed CAMP gear.
Active Events Today
The Big Bloom Event
May 19 – June 2, 2026
The Big Bloom begins today at noon ET, spawning insect enemies across Appalachia and opening the seasonal reward track. Running The Big Bloom public event is the fastest way to stack multiple daily and weekly challenge objectives at once — insects killed during the event count toward both daily and weekly insect-kill trackers.
Today's Daily Ops
| Mode | Decryption |
| Location | Arktos Pharma Biome Labs |
| Enemies | Blood Eagles |
| Mutations | Savage Strike, Volatile |
Mutation breakdown:
- Savage Strike: Enemies deal increased melee damage and close distance aggressively — Blood Eagles will rush into melee range when they spot you.
- Volatile: Enemies explode on death, dealing area damage around their corpse. Stepping back before landing a killing blow prevents taking burst damage from the detonation.
Strategy: Decryption mode requires you to hold position near the network scanner terminal while Blood Eagles attack in waves. Ranged builds have the advantage here — Arktos Pharma's lab corridors let you funnel incoming Blood Eagles through choke points. Keep distance from enemies at low health to avoid Volatile blasts, and prioritize crowd control to prevent Savage Strike melee rushes from overwhelming the terminal position. Do not cluster teammates in tight corridors when multiple Blood Eagles are nearly dead.
Today's Daily Challenges
| Challenge | SCORE |
|---|---|
| Gold Star: Complete a Daily Challenge (x6) | 1000 |
| Drink Tea | 250 |
| Catch a Fish in the Savage Divide Region (x2) | 250 |
| Complete an Event | 250 |
| Eat a Fish (x5) | 250 |
| Eat a Fish Bit (x6) | 250 |
| Kill an Enemy in the Savage Divide Region (x5) | 250 |
| Kill an Insect during The Big Bloom Event (x5) | 250 |
Quick completion tips:
- Gold Star: Complete a Daily Challenge (x6): Finishing any six of today's other challenges triggers this automatically — work through the fish and insect challenges first since they overlap with weekly objectives.
- Drink Tea: Craft any Tea variant (Blackberry Tea, Oolong Tea, or similar) at a cooking station and consume it. One drink is all that's needed.
- Catch a Fish in the Savage Divide Region (x2): Fish from any water body within the Savage Divide — the streams near Spruce Knob, the river near Bailey Family Cabin, or the water around the Palace of the Winding Path all work. Two successful catches complete this.
- Complete an Event: Any public event counts. Joining The Big Bloom queue fulfills this and simultaneously knocks out the insect-kill challenge below.
- Eat a Fish (x5): Cook raw fish at any cooking station to make edible fish items, then consume five of them. Fishing in the Savage Divide for the catch challenge gives you the raw fish needed here.
- Eat a Fish Bit (x6): Fish Bits are crafted at a cooking station using raw fish. Craft and eat six to complete this; combining your fishing run with this challenge is efficient.
- Kill an Enemy in the Savage Divide Region (x5): Any enemy within the Savage Divide qualifies — Mole Miners near Hornwright Testing Sites, Super Mutants around Top of the World, or Ghouls near the Palace of the Winding Path all count. Five kills is a low bar.
- Kill an Insect during The Big Bloom Event (x5): Join The Big Bloom public event and kill five insects (Bloodbugs, Stingwings, or other insects that spawn during the event). This also chips away at the 30-kill weekly challenge below.
Weekly Challenges
| Challenge | Reward |
|---|---|
| Complete a Gold Star Daily Challenge! (x3) | 1500 SCORE |
| Repeatable Under Rank 100: Gain XP (x10000) | 100 SCORE |
| Repeatable at Rank 100 or above: Complete a Public Event (x3) | 300 SCORE |
| Build light sources in a Workshop or C.A.M.P. (x9) | 1000 SCORE |
| Collect Caps (x2500) | 1000 SCORE |
| Collect a Teapot (x5) | 1000 SCORE |
| Collect a Teddy Bear (x9) | 1000 SCORE |
| Complete the Event: "The Big Bloom" (x5) | 1000 SCORE |
| Kill a Mirelurk (x30) | 1000 SCORE |
| Kill an Insect during The Big Bloom Event (x30) | 1000 SCORE |
| Plant a Crop in a Workshop or C.A.M.P. (x25) | 1000 SCORE |
| Sell Scorchbeast Steak to an NPC vendor | 1000 SCORE |
Quick completion hints:
- Complete a Gold Star Daily Challenge! (x3): Complete today's Gold Star (six dailies) on three separate reset days this week — one down today if you run through the daily list above.
- Build light sources in a Workshop or C.A.M.P. (x9): Lamps, lanterns, and other light fixtures placed in your CAMP or a captured Workshop each count. Build nine to finish this; workshop tables let you build quickly in bulk.
- Collect Caps (x2500): Accumulates naturally through vendor sales, event rewards, and looting. Running multiple Big Bloom events this week generates caps passively.
- Collect a Teapot (x5): Teapots spawn as world loot in kitchens and on shelves across Appalachia. Pre-war homes, The Wayward, and Flatwoods interiors are reliable spots for five.
- Collect a Teddy Bear (x9): Teddy Bears appear in beds, on shelves, and in containers throughout Appalachia. Schools (Morgantown High, Charleston) and homes typically have several per building; do a quick residential sweep.
- Complete the Event: "The Big Bloom" (x5): The Big Bloom runs through June 2 — you have two weeks to complete five event runs. Each run also feeds the 30-insect weekly kill challenge.
- Kill a Mirelurk (x30): Mirelurks spawn reliably at Summersville Lake, the rivers near Pleasant Valley, and throughout the Cranberry Bog. Events set in swampy areas like the Mire also produce Mirelurk spawns.
- Kill an Insect during The Big Bloom Event (x30): Stack this with the x5 event completion weekly — each Big Bloom run yields many insect kills, so five runs will produce significant progress toward 30.
- Plant a Crop in a Workshop or C.A.M.P. (x25): Capture a Workshop that has existing crop plots (Hemlock Holes Maintenance is a compact option), then plant and re-plant 25 crops. Your CAMP's crop slots also count toward this total.
- Sell Scorchbeast Steak to an NPC vendor: Craft Scorchbeast Steak at a cooking station using Scorchbeast Meat, then sell one to any NPC vendor (trading posts, Foundation, Crater, or Whitespring all have vendors). Only one sale is required.
