Active Events Today

Double Mutations and Treasure Hunter

May 14 – May 18, 2026

Today is the final full day of Double Mutations and Treasure Hunter. Mole Miner Treasure Hunters are spawning across Appalachia and dropping Mole Miner Pails loaded with rare loot — confirmed active near Wavy Willard's Water Park per community reports. Daily Ops run with three mutations this week thanks to the Double Mutations bonus. The event closes at on Monday.

Today's Daily Ops

ModeUplink
LocationGlassed Cavern
EnemiesOvergrown
MutationsPiercing Gaze, Group Regeneration, Freezing Touch

Mutation breakdown:

  • Piercing Gaze: Enemies detect players at greater distances; stealth approaches are far less reliable in this rotation.
  • Group Regeneration: Enemies regenerate health when standing near other enemies — fighting clusters of Overgrown without sustained DPS quickly becomes a war of attrition.
  • Freezing Touch: Enemy attacks apply a frost effect that slows your movement speed on hit.

Strategy: Stealth builds are strongly disadvantaged by Piercing Gaze in Glassed Cavern's enclosed tunnels — bring a direct damage build instead. Engage Overgrown one or two at a time; Group Regeneration means clustered enemies will undo your damage faster than you can deal it, so pull or separate targets before committing. Freezing Touch slows you on melee contact from Overgrown, so favor ranged weapons and stay mobile to avoid being slowed by multiple enemies simultaneously.

Quick completion tips:

  • Gold Star: Complete a Daily Challenge (x6): Finishing 6 of today's other challenges completes this automatically — tackle the fastest ones first to chain them efficiently.
  • Eat Dog Food (x5): Loot kitchens and homes in Flatwoods and Sutton, or craft Dog Food at a cooking station using Dog Meat from feral dogs.
  • Collect a Burnt Book (x10): Bookshelves in residential areas respawn reliably — Morgantown, Sutton, and the Whitespring Resort all have dense concentrations.
  • Collect a Microscope or Biometric Scanner (x2): Watoga Medical Center and West Tek Research Center are the most reliable spawns for both items; either location yields both types in a single pass.
  • Gain XP (2500): A single Daily Ops run at Glassed Cavern easily clears 2500 XP — knock out two challenges at once.
  • Kill a Canine (x5): Feral dogs roam Flatwoods, Morgantown airport, and Charleston; this also counts toward the weekly Kill a Canine (x30) challenge.
  • Kill a Yao Guai: Reliable spawns at Sunnytop Ski Lanes and Lake Eloise in The Forest region; a single kill completes this challenge.
  • Visit your Shelter: Open your CAMP menu and enter your shelter — takes only a few seconds.

Quick completion hints:

  • Complete a Gold Star Daily Challenge! (x3): Complete 6 daily challenges on any 3 days this week; today's lineup is straightforward and well-suited for a quick clean sweep.
  • Repeatable Under Rank 100: Gain XP (x10000): Any XP source counts — killing enemies, completing events, running quests; this challenge resets and can be repeated throughout the week.
  • Repeatable at Rank 100 or above: Complete a Public Event (x3): Eviction Notice, Radiation Rumble, and Uranium Fever fill quickly with other players and each count toward this challenge.
  • Build a Generator in a C.A.M.P. or Workshop (x5): Claim any workshop, place 5 small generators from the Power build menu, then dismantle and rebuild if you need additional counts.
  • Collect Brain Fungus (x25): Brain Fungus grows in caves and underground tunnels; the cave systems near Vault 94 in The Mire and the tunnels around Harper's Ferry offer dense clusters that can be cleared in a single pass.
  • Complete Daily Operations! (x3): Run today's Uplink rotation in Glassed Cavern three times this week — each run takes roughly 10–15 minutes once the layout is familiar.
  • Deal a Critical Hit to a Radtoad in VATS (x5): Radtoads spawn around Bluewater Cove and Lake Eloise in The Forest; fill your crit meter on weaker enemies first, then open VATS against a Radtoad and release the stored critical.
  • Drink Nuka-Grape (x5): Check Nuka-Cola machines at diners and gas stations across Appalachia, or buy from NPC and player vendors; can also be crafted at a Tinker's Workbench.
  • Kill a Canine (x30): Stack this with today's Kill a Canine (x5) daily — farm feral dogs in Flatwoods, Morgantown, and Charleston across multiple sessions to chip away at the count.
  • Mod an Energy Weapon (x5): Bring a laser rifle, plasma pistol, or other energy weapon to any Weapons Workbench and apply five mods; crafting any available modification counts each time.
  • Scrap junk to produce Wood (x30): Collect Wood Blocks, Bowls, Boards, and other wooden junk items from homes and forested areas, then scrap them all at any crafting workbench.
  • Sell Mirelurk Queen Steak to an NPC vendor: Kill a Mirelurk Queen at Summersville Lake or the Flooded Trainyard, cook the Queen Meat into Mirelurk Queen Steak at any cooking station, then sell the steak to any named NPC vendor.
