Active Events Today

Double Mutations and Treasure Hunter

May 14 – May 18, 2026

Double Mutations are active, meaning Daily Ops roll with three mutations instead of the usual two — the Uplink run today has all three on deck. Mole Miner Treasure Hunters are still spawning across Appalachia through (Monday 12 PM ET); grab Mole Miner Pails from vendor machines and dig up every note-marked cache you can before the event ends.

Today's Daily Ops

ModeUplink
LocationWatoga High School
EnemiesMothman Cultists
MutationsPiercing Gaze + Active Camouflage + Toxic Blood

Mutation breakdown:

  • Piercing Gaze — Enemies detect players through stealth and cloaking effects; stealth builds provide no evasion benefit in this Op.
  • Active Camouflage — Enemies turn invisible periodically, making direct fire unreliable; use VATS, spread weapons, or area-of-effect attacks to track cloaked Cultists.
  • Toxic Blood — Enemies emit a toxic cloud on death; avoid standing over kills and reposition after each takedown to avoid stacking radiation damage.

Strategy: Uplink mode requires the team to defend the signal device from enemy waves — keep at least one player anchored near the uplink while others clear flanking Mothman Cultists. Active Camouflage makes precise targeting frustrating, so shotguns or explosives that cover an area are more reliable than single-shot rifles here. When enemies die, the Toxic Blood cloud lingers briefly at the kill spot, so finish off groups quickly and then step back rather than standing in the kill zone.

Today's Daily Challenges

Collect a Teddy Bear (x3)250
Build Anything in a Shelter (x10)250
Collect RadAway or Rad-X (x5)250
Destroy an Assaultron250
Join a Team with another Player250
Kill an Enemy in the Ash Heap Region (x5)250
Use Photomode to Take a Photo250

Quick completion tips:

  • Gold Star: Complete a Daily Challenge (x6) — Finish any six of the non-Gold-Star challenges listed above; the Gold Star completes automatically once six are done and awards the 1000 SCORE bonus.
  • Collect a Teddy Bear (x3) — Teddy bears appear in abandoned homes and campsites; Whitespring Resort and Pleasant Valley Ski Resort have reliable indoor spawns on counters and shelves.
  • Build Anything in a Shelter (x10) — Enter any owned shelter and place or move any object ten times; each individual build action counts, so a cheap item placed and picked up repeatedly works fine.
  • Collect RadAway or Rad-X (x5) — Loot from med-kits, hospitals, and super mutant camps; Watoga Emergency Services and the Charleston Capitol Building medical area have reliable medical supply spawns.
  • Destroy an Assaultron — Assaultrons patrol Watoga, RobCo Research Center, and the Eastern Regional Penitentiary; Watoga's dense robot population makes it the fastest stop.
  • Join a Team with another Player — Open the Social menu and invite any player or accept an invite; the challenge completes the instant you join a team.
  • Kill an Enemy in the Ash Heap Region (x5) — Any five enemy kills in the Ash Heap qualify; Scorched, Super Mutants, and Mole Rats are abundant around the Burning Mine and Lewisburg.
  • Use Photomode to Take a Photo — Activate Photo Mode anywhere in the world and capture a shot; completes immediately on confirming the photo.

Quick completion hints:

  • Complete a Gold Star Daily Challenge! (x3) — Earn the Gold Star reward by completing six daily challenges each reset day; today's session can be your first of the three needed.
  • Repeatable Under Rank 100: Gain XP (x10,000) — Any XP source counts; Daily Ops, public events, and main quests all tick this up steadily.
  • Repeatable at Rank 100+: Complete a Public Event (x3) — Any three public world events qualify; Treasure Hunter events active through May 18 count, as do Radiation Rumble and Eviction Notice.
  • Build a Generator in a C.A.M.P. or Workshop (x5) — Place any generator at your CAMP, scrap it, then rebuild; each placement counts separately, so five build-and-scrap cycles at your CAMP completes this without needing materials for five different generators.
  • Collect Brain Fungus (x25) — Brain Fungus grows on cave walls; Blackwater Mine, Lucky Hole Mine, and the Cranberry Bog cave systems have dense clusters.
  • Complete Daily Operations! (x3) — Run today's Uplink Op at Watoga High School three times across the week; one run per day keeps the progress ticking.
  • Deal a Critical Hit to a Radtoad in VATS (x5) — Radtoads are common in the Mire and Cranberry Bog; build your critical meter in a fight, then spend the stored critical on a Radtoad in VATS.
  • Drink Nuka-Grape (x5) — Nuka-Grape spawns in containers and vending machines across Appalachia; player vendors often stock it, or craft it at a Brewing Station if you have the recipe.
  • Kill a Canine (x30) — Mongrels spawn densely near Morgantown Airport and Charleston; wolves and wild dogs also roam the Savage Divide and Ash Heap for quicker stacking.
  • Mod an Energy Weapon (x5) — Visit a Weapons Workbench and apply or swap any mod on five energy weapons; modding the same weapon type five separate times counts.
  • Scrap junk to produce Wood (x30) — Scrap wooden junk items (wood boards, pencils, desk fans) at any workbench; the Forest region sawmills and lumber sites have abundant wood-yielding junk.
  • Sell Mirelurk Queen Steak to an NPC vendor — Kill a Mirelurk Queen for Mirelurk Queen Meat, cook it into Mirelurk Queen Steak at a cooking station, then sell it to any NPC vendor such as Samuel at Foundation or the Whitespring Refuge traders.
