Decryption Daily Ops at Charleston Capitol Building against Fanatics under Savage Strike and Active Camouflage. Collect Mirelurk Eggs and hunt the Mire for today's challenges. Double Mutations and Treasure Hunter starts tomorrow.

Active Events Today

Purple Axolotl of the Month

May 5 – June 2, 2026

The Purple Axolotl is catchable this month exclusively in Skyline Valley and Cranberry Bog. Small fishing spots in those two regions offer a 30% catch rate — still 19 days of the window remaining, but don't sleep on it.

Coming tomorrow: Double Mutations and Treasure Hunter kicks off and runs through .

Today's Daily Ops

ModeDecryption
LocationCharleston Capitol Building
EnemiesFanatics
MutationsSavage Strike, Active Camouflage

Mutation breakdown:

  • Savage Strike — Enemies deal significantly increased melee damage; maintain distance and avoid letting Fanatics close the gap on you.
  • Active Camouflage — Enemies periodically cloak and become difficult to spot; use V.A.T.S. to detect them or listen for footstep audio near the terminals.

Strategy: Decryption tasks you with defending and interacting with encrypted terminals while enemy waves try to seize them. Prioritise clearing the crowd around each terminal objective before chasing individual targets. The Charleston Capitol Building's wide interior corridors help funnel Fanatics — hold a position near the terminal and let them come to you rather than pushing into the open. With Active Camouflage active, stick to the terminals and avoid wandering far, since cloaked enemies may be between you and the objective.

Kill an Enemy in the Mire Region (x5)250

Quick completion tips:

  • Scrap junk to produce Aluminum (x5): Aluminum cans, surgical trays, and oil cans scrap into aluminum. Grab a handful from Vault 81, Watoga Hospital, or any pre-war building, then scrap them at any workbench.
  • Collect Mirelurk Eggs (x3): Mirelurk egg clutches nest around swampy areas — Lake Eloise in Cranberry Bog and river banks in The Mire are reliable spots. Pick up 3 egg clusters from nests on the ground.
  • Kill a Mirelurk (x5) and Kill an Enemy in the Mire Region (x5): These stack cleanly. Head to The Mire and hunt mirelurks along the rivers near Dolly Sods Campground or Southhampton Estate — five kills clears both challenges simultaneously.
  • Eat a Cooked Meal (x10): Cook 10 simple recipes at a cooking station — Mutton Chops, Grilled Radstag, or Noodle Cup all count. Bring raw meat from any creature you encounter.
  • Sell a Shotgun to an NPC vendor: Pick up any shotgun from a container or enemy drop and sell it to any NPC vendor, such as at Whitespring Resort, Watoga Shopping Plaza, or the Rusty Pick.
  • Complete a Daily Operation on a Public Team!: Open the Social menu and join a public team before launching Daily Ops — the team flag on the map makes it easy. The run itself counts for today's Gold Star progress too.
  • Gold Star: Complete a Daily Challenge (x6): Knock out any six of the above challenges and the Gold Star bonus is yours.

Quick completion hints:

  • Build a Generator in a C.A.M.P. or Workshop (x5): Place a Small Generator in your CAMP five times — you can build it, scrap it, and rebuild it repeatedly at minimal material cost. Workshop captures at Poseidon Energy Plant also count.
  • Collect Brain Fungus (x25): Brain Fungus clusters grow on cave walls throughout The Mire and Cranberry Bog. Wendigo Cave and the caverns near Mosstown hold dense patches that can net 10+ per visit. Today's Mire challenge run doubles as a Brain Fungus trip.
  • Complete Daily Operations! (x3): Three runs of today's Decryption ops at Charleston Capitol Building clears this. Joining a public team also satisfies today's daily team challenge at the same time.
  • Deal a Critical Hit to a Radtoad in VATS (x5): Radtoads spawn in swampy areas near Flatwoods, The Mire, and around Cranberry Bog. Build your critical meter through normal V.A.T.S. attacks, then release the crit on any Radtoad.
  • Drink Nuka-Grape (x5): Nuka-Cola machines in Nuka-World on Tour and vending machines scattered across Appalachia stock Nuka-Grape. It can also be brewed at a brewing station if you have the recipe.
  • Kill a Canine (x30): Feral dogs patrol Route 40 and the roads around Flatwoods and Morgantown. Wolvers in The Mire count as well. A couple of laps around Flatwoods or a quick server hop typically covers all 30.
  • Mod an Energy Weapon (x5): Apply any modification at a weapons workbench to a laser rifle, plasma pistol, or other energy weapon — five times total. Swapping the same mod on and off counts.
  • Scrap junk to produce Wood (x30): Wood scraps, pencils, and extinguisher handles all yield wood when scrapped. A run through any pre-war school or suburban house interior gathers enough in a single pass.
  • Sell Mirelurk Queen Steak to an NPC vendor: Cook Queen Steak from Mirelurk Queen meat (obtained from Queen encounters at events like "Fly Swatter" or "Encryptid"), then sell the cooked steak to any NPC vendor.
  • Complete a Gold Star Daily Challenge! (x3): Earn today's Gold Star, then repeat across the next two daily resets to complete the three-day stretch.
