Spooky Scorched Event

Today's Daily Ops
| Mode | Uplink |
| Location | Vault 94 |
| Enemies | Fanatics |
| Mutations | Piercing Gaze + Freezing Touch + Toxic Blood |
Mutation breakdown:
- Piercing Gaze — Enemies detect you at significantly greater range; stealth-based approaches lose their effectiveness entirely. Commit to active combat from the moment you enter.
- Freezing Touch — Melee hits from Fanatics apply a chilling slow. Getting surrounded in Vault 94's corridors can lock your movement at the worst possible moment — maintain a firing distance buffer.
- Toxic Blood — Enemies release a toxic hazard zone when killed. Avoid standing on or clustering near fresh corpses; in Vault 94's tighter sections the puddles overlap quickly.
Strategy: Uplink mode requires defending signal emitters from incoming Fanatics waves. With Piercing Gaze active, be ready to engage immediately on entry — enemies will pull from well outside normal detection range. Use Vault 94's corridors to channel enemies into chokepoints one group at a time, but step off every kill immediately to clear Toxic Blood puddles before they accumulate. Freezing Touch makes brawling close-quarters punishing; favor ranged weapons to strip down incoming attackers before they reach melee range.
Today's Daily Challenges
| Challenge | SCORE |
|---|---|
| Gold Star: Complete a Daily Challenge (x6) | 1000 |
| Craft or Scrap Armor (x5) | 250 |
| Complete a Daily Operation | 250 |
| Kill a Lost (x5) | 250 |
| Kill a Spooky Scorched (x10) | 250 |
| Scrap a Pipe Gun (x3) | 250 |
| Scrap junk to produce Asbestos (x5) | 250 |
| Scrap junk to produce Ballistic Fiber (x3) | 250 |
Quick completion tips:
- Gold Star: Complete a Daily Challenge (x6) — Complete the other six dailies first; the Gold Star auto-completes once you hit the threshold.
- Craft or Scrap Armor (x5) — Scrap five looted leather or raider armor pieces at any armor workbench. Scorched enemies in the Forest drop these constantly.
- Complete a Daily Operation — Run today's Uplink at Vault 94 to clear this alongside the main Daily Ops rewards.
- Kill a Lost (x5) — The Lost spawn exclusively in the Skyline Valley region. Dark Hollow Manor and Shining Creek Cavern are 100% reliable; five kills clears quickly.
- Kill a Spooky Scorched (x10) — The Spooky Scorched event is live through May 12; they roam the same zones as regular Scorched. Point Pleasant and the Mire give the fastest stacks.
- Scrap a Pipe Gun (x3) — Pipe weapons drop frequently from low-level Scorched and Raiders in the Forest region; scrap three at any weapons workbench.
- Scrap junk to produce Asbestos (x5) — Scrap Cigarette Cartons, Coffee Pots, Extinguishers, or Toasters at any workbench. Offices, diners, and hospitals are the best sources for these items.
- Scrap junk to produce Ballistic Fiber (x3) — Military Grade Duct Tape and Military Ammo Bags are your primary sources. Camp McClintock, Fort Defiance, and The Whitespring Resort's military wing reliably spawn them.

Quick completion hints:
- Complete a Gold Star Daily Challenge (x3) — Natural daily progression; earn your Gold Star each day this week by completing six dailies per session.
- Cripple a Spooky Scorched's Leg (x30) — Pairs directly with today's daily kill challenge (x10). Aim explicitly at leg hitboxes; the event runs until May 12, giving you the full week at Point Pleasant and the Mire.
- Cripple a Super Mutant's Arm (x30) — Super Mutants are abundant at Huntersville in the Savage Divide and Grafton Steel in the Toxic Valley; target the arm limb slot specifically.
- Harvest a Wild Plant or Fungi (x30) — Dense wild plant spawns through the Forest toward Morgantown cover this in a couple of passes; server-hop if local spawns run dry.
- Collect Pre-war Food (x20) — Pre-war canned goods (Pork n' Beans, Cram, InstaMash, Baked Beans) in kitchens, diners, and grocery stores. The Whitespring Resort kitchen and the Flatwoods diner are reliable sources.
- Complete an Event (x3) — Any public event counts; Uranium Fever, Moonshine Jamboree, and Eviction Notice trigger frequently and finish quickly.
- Eat a Vegetable (x25) — Any raw or cooked vegetable counts. Wild Blackberries and Mutfruit picked during the harvest challenge satisfy both at once.
- Scrap junk to produce Ceramic (x15) — Scrap Coffee Cups, Ceramic Bowls, Flower Pots, or Garden Gnomes at any workbench. Common household items throughout the Forest region.
- Sell Pumpkin Pie to an NPC vendor — Pumpkin Pie drops from the Spooky Scorched event or can be crafted at a cooking station; sell a single pie to any NPC vendor to clear this.
- Sell a Weapon to an NPC vendor (x15) — Pipe weapons looted from Scorched encounters work fine; sell to any NPC vendor across your weekly play sessions.
