Daily Fallout 76 Briefing - April 29, 2026
Spooky Scorched are active across Appalachia through May 12 and today's dailies are fish-heavy — catch, cook, craft, and sell your way through the list. Daily Ops sends you to Vault 96 in Decryption mode against Robots with Savage Strike and Toxic Blood mutations. Double SCORE starts tomorrow — bank your stacking for Thursday.
Active Events Today
Spooky Scorched Event
April 28 – May 12, 2026
Spooky Scorched variants are active across Appalachia through May 12, dropping seasonal gifts and event-exclusive loot. Both a daily challenge (cripple x10) and a weekly challenge (cripple x30) target Spooky Scorched legs, so head to high-density Scorched zones to knock out progress on both simultaneously.
RIP Daring Mini Season
April 21 – May 5, 2026
The Rip Daring weapons-expert mini scoreboard closes May 5 — six days remaining. A tip circulating on Reddit today: you only need to be holding the required weapon type for kills to count toward Rip Daring challenges, so teammates or turrets can handle the actual damage.
Today's Daily Ops
| Mode | Decryption |
| Location | Vault 96 |
| Enemies | Robots |
| Mutations | Savage Strike, Toxic Blood |
Mutation breakdown:
- Savage Strike — Enemies deal significantly increased melee damage. Assaultrons and Sentry Bots in particular can punish players who close to melee range; stay back and use ranged weapons throughout.
- Toxic Blood — Enemies release a toxic cloud on death. Avoid standing over freshly killed robots; finish them from range or step back before the corpse settles to stay clear of the poison radius.
Strategy: In Decryption mode at Vault 96, you must locate and activate three decoder terminals while defending them against robot waves. With Savage Strike active, keep distance from all robot types — Assaultrons especially will charge and deal heavy damage up close. Toxic Blood punishes standing over kills, so use ranged finishing shots rather than melee follow-ups. Move promptly between terminals once each finishes decoding; lingering in place lets the next robot wave catch up.
Today's Daily Challenges
| Challenge | SCORE |
|---|---|
| Gold Star: Complete a Daily Challenge (x6) | 1000 |
| Eat a Cake, Pie, or Candy (x10) | 250 |
| Catch a Fish (x3) | 250 |
| Cook Grilled Fish (x2) | 250 |
| Craft Fish Bits (x5) | 250 |
| Cripple a Spooky Scorched's Leg (x10) | 250 |
| Kill a Corrosive Stingwing (x2) | 250 |
| Sell Grilled Fish to an NPC vendor | 250 |
Quick completion tips:
- Gold Star: Complete a Daily Challenge (x6) — Completing any six other daily challenges earns this automatically. Chain the fish challenges together for a fast multi-challenge clear.
- Eat a Cake, Pie, or Candy (x10) — Fancy Lad Snack Cakes, Sweetroll, and Pre-War Candy bars all count. Loot kitchen areas, convenience stores, and suburban homes in the Forest; the Whitespring also has reliable candy spawns.
- Catch a Fish (x3) — Use any fishing rod at a fishing spot. Reliable locations include Spruce Knob Lake in the Savage Divide, the Mire waterways near Harpers Ferry, and Tyler County Fairgrounds in the Toxic Valley.
- Cook Grilled Fish (x2) / Craft Fish Bits (x5) — Both require raw fish from catching or looting. Cook Grilled Fish at a cooking station using raw fish; Craft Fish Bits at a cooking station as well. Catch your fish first, then hit a nearby cooking station to knock out both challenges in one stop.
- Cripple a Spooky Scorched's Leg (x10) — With the Spooky Scorched Event active, they appear throughout Appalachia. Use VATS to target legs in high-density Scorched zones like the Cranberry Bog or Toxic Valley. Progress also counts toward the weekly (x30) challenge.
- Kill a Corrosive Stingwing (x2) — Corrosive Stingwings are an acid-type Stingwing variant found in the Mire and Cranberry Bog. Check around Creekside Sundew Grove or the southern Mire waterways for reliable spawns.
- Sell Grilled Fish to an NPC vendor — Cook one Grilled Fish at a cooking station, then sell it to any NPC vendor at a train station or settlement such as Whitespring or Foundation.
- Note: Double SCORE begins tomorrow, April 30. Today's challenge completions earn normal SCORE — if you want to maximize SCORE gain this week, save your heavy stacking for Thursday.

Quick completion hints:
- Complete a Gold Star Daily Challenge! (x3) — Each day you earn the Gold Star counts as one. Three Gold Star days this week finishes it. Double SCORE runs Thursday April 30 through Monday May 4, so those days will yield extra SCORE on all completions.
- Cripple a Spooky Scorched's Leg (x30) — The event runs through May 12, so there's no rush. Today's daily (x10) already contributes toward this weekly. Use VATS leg targeting in Cranberry Bog or Toxic Valley for the fastest stacking.
- Cripple a Super Mutant's Arm (x30) — Farm super mutant-heavy spots: Huntersville (Savage Divide), West Tek Research Center, or the Converted Munitions Factory. VATS arm targeting keeps crippling consistent.
- Collect Pre-war Food (x20) — Fancy Lad Snack Cakes, Sugar Bombs, and InstaMash count. Loot suburban kitchens and convenience stores in the Forest for quick stacks of 20.
- Eat a Vegetable (x25) — Any raw or cooked vegetable counts. Carry a stack of Carrots, Corn, Mutfruit, or Tarberries and eat through them in one sitting.
- Harvest a Wild Plant or Fungi (x30) — Silt Beans, Tato, Brain Fungi, and Bloodleaf all count. The Mire and Cranberry Bog are dense with harvestable plants for fast progress.
- Scrap junk to produce Ceramic (x15) — Bowls, Coffee Cups, Desk Fans, and Plates all yield Ceramic when scrapped. Pre-war kitchens and office buildings are reliable sources.
- Sell Pumpkin Pie to an NPC vendor — Cook one Pumpkin Pie at a cooking station (requires Pumpkin, found in the Mire and around Flatwoods), then sell it to any NPC vendor at a train station or the Whitespring.
- Sell a Weapon to an NPC vendor (x15) — Loot 15 low-value weapons from enemies and sell them to any train station vendor. Daily Ops and public events provide a steady supply of sellable drops.
