Daily Fallout 76 Briefing - April 28, 2026
The Spooky Scorched Event launches today alongside a Patch 67 maintenance window. Minerva closes at Foundation tomorrow. Daily Ops sends you to Watoga High School in Uplink mode against Communists with Piercing Gaze and Resilient mutations.
Active Events Today
Spooky Scorched Event
April 28 – May 12, 2026
Starting today, Spooky Scorched variants replace some Scorched spawns across Appalachia and drop seasonal gifts and loot. This event syncs directly with today's daily and the weekly challenges — both "Kill a Spooky Scorched (x10)" and "Cripple a Spooky Scorched's Leg (x30)" are now live.
RIP Daring Mini Season
April 21 – May 5, 2026
The Rip Daring weapons-expert mini scoreboard has one week left before it closes May 5. Keep stacking daily challenge completions each day to maximize your remaining SCORE before the season ends.
Minerva (List 9) — Final Day Tomorrow
April 27 – April 29, 2026
Minerva is at Foundation through tomorrow. List 9 includes T-65 Power Armor plans and the Crusader Pistol at a 25% Gold Bullion discount — this is your last opportunity before she moves on.
Patch 67 Maintenance Window
April 28, 2026
Server maintenance started at today as part of Patch 67 stability work. Servers may still be recovering — check the Bethesda status page before logging in if you're having connection issues.
Today's Daily Ops
| Mode | Uplink |
| Location | Watoga High School |
| Enemies | Communists |
| Mutations | Piercing Gaze, Resilient |
Mutation breakdown:
- Piercing Gaze — Enemies can detect players through stealth, effectively negating sneak-based approaches. Use standard combat positioning rather than relying on stealth or stealth-triggered bonuses.
- Resilient — Enemies gain a temporary damage resistance burst after being crippled. Avoid deliberately targeting limbs for primary damage output; focus fire on center mass to kill efficiently instead.
Strategy: In Uplink mode, you must secure three upload terminals while fending off continuous Communist enemy waves at Watoga High School. Position yourself near the terminals to intercept enemies before they can interrupt the upload. With Piercing Gaze active, stealth builds will not provide their usual advantage — bring a tanky or mid-range combat build instead. Avoid running cripple-focused perk setups like Concentrated Fire for primary damage, as Resilient will reduce the effectiveness of any limb-targeting strategy.
Today's Daily Challenges
| Challenge | SCORE |
|---|---|
| Gold Star: Complete a Daily Challenge (x6) | 1000 |
| Craft or Scrap a Melee Weapon (x5) | 250 |
| Buy an item from or Sell an item to another Player | 250 |
| Cook a Meat-Based Meal (x5) | 250 |
| Eat a Meat-based Meal (x10) | 250 |
| Kill a Radhog (x5) | 250 |
| Kill a Spooky Scorched (x10) | 250 |
| Scrap junk to produce Cloth (x10) | 250 |
Quick completion tips:
- Gold Star: Complete a Daily Challenge (x6) — Completing any six other daily challenges earns this automatically. Stack the meat-related challenges and Radhog kills for fast multi-challenge clears in a single outing.
- Craft or Scrap a Melee Weapon (x5) — Scrap any cheap melee weapon (pipe wrench, machete) at a weapons workbench five times. Looting weapons during Spooky Scorched hunts gives you plenty of scrap material.
- Buy an item from or Sell an item to another Player — Visit a player vendor machine at any CAMP and buy any low-cost item to complete this in under a minute.
- Cook a Meat-Based Meal (x5) / Eat a Meat-based Meal (x10) — Combine these with the Radhog kill challenge: Radhogs drop raw meat that can be cooked into simple recipes. Cook five servings at a camp cooking station, then eat them to knock out two challenges simultaneously.
- Kill a Radhog (x5) — Radhogs spawn reliably in the Forest region near Flatwoods, Morgantown Airport, and around Tyler County Fairgrounds.
- Kill a Spooky Scorched (x10) — The Spooky Scorched Event starts today, so Spooky Scorched are now active across Appalachia. Head to high-density Scorched zones like the Toxic Valley or Cranberry Bog for fast kills.
- Scrap junk to produce Cloth (x10) — Pre-War Money, cigarette cartons, pillows, and surgical trays all yield Cloth when scrapped. Loot pre-war homes in the Forest or train stations for quick cloth junk.
- Note: Double SCORE is not active today — it begins Thursday, April 30. Today's challenge completions earn normal SCORE.
Weekly Challenges
| Challenge | Reward |
|---|---|
| Complete a Gold Star Daily Challenge! (x3) | 1500 SCORE |
| Repeatable Under Rank 100: Gain XP (x10000) | 100 SCORE |
| Repeatable at Rank 100 or above: Complete a Public Event (x3) | 300 SCORE |
| Collect Pre-war Food (x20) | 1000 SCORE |
| Complete an Event (x3) | 1000 SCORE |
| Cripple a Spooky Scorched's Leg (x30) | 1000 SCORE |
| Cripple a Super Mutant's Arm (x30) | 1000 SCORE |
| Eat a Vegetable (x25) | 1000 SCORE |
| Harvest a Wild Plant or Fungi (x30) | 1000 SCORE |
| Scrap junk to produce Ceramic (x15) | 1000 SCORE |
| Sell Pumpkin Pie to an NPC vendor | 1000 SCORE |
| Sell a Weapon to an NPC vendor (x15) | 1000 SCORE |
Quick completion hints:
- Complete a Gold Star Daily Challenge! (x3) — Each day you complete all six daily challenges and earn the Gold Star, this ticks forward by one. Three Gold Star days this week finishes it automatically.
- Cripple a Spooky Scorched's Leg (x30) — With the Spooky Scorched Event live today, this is very achievable this week. Target legs with any weapon in VATS at dense Scorched areas like the Toxic Valley or Cranberry Bog; chaining kills quickly racks up 30 crippled legs.
- Cripple a Super Mutant's Arm (x30) — Farm super mutant-heavy locations like Huntersville, West Tek Research Center, or the Converted Munitions Factory. Use VATS to target arms reliably for consistent crippling.
- Collect Pre-war Food (x20) — Pre-war food items like Fancy Lad Snack Cakes, Sugar Bombs, and InstaMash count. Loot kitchen areas and suburban homes in the Forest region for quick stacks of 20.
- Eat a Vegetable (x25) — Any cooked or raw vegetable counts. Carry a stack of Carrots, Corn, Mutfruit, or Tarberries and eat through them in one sitting to clear this quickly.
- Harvest a Wild Plant or Fungi (x30) — Silt Beans, Tato, Brain Fungi, and Bloodleaf all count. The Mire and Cranberry Bog are dense with harvestable plants for quick progress.
- Scrap junk to produce Ceramic (x15) — Bowls, Coffee Cups, Desk Fans, and Plates yield Ceramic when scrapped. Pre-war kitchens and office buildings are reliable sources.
- Sell Pumpkin Pie to an NPC vendor — Cook one Pumpkin Pie at any cooking station (requires Pumpkin, found in the Mire and around Flatwoods), then sell it to any NPC vendor at a train station or Whitespring.
- Sell a Weapon to an NPC vendor (x15) — Loot 15 low-value weapons from enemies and sell them to any train station vendor. Daily Ops and public events provide a steady supply of spare weapons.
