Daily Fallout 76 Briefing - April 07, 2026
Mutated Public Events and the Dotted Axolotl season both kick off today, a new fishing-themed Atom Shop rotation launches with free items for Fallout 1st members, Minerva is at Fort Atlas for her final day, and Decryption ops run at Charleston Capitol against Scorched with Active Camouflage in play.
Active Events Today
Rip Daring vs Aliens C.A.M.P. Showdown
April 2 – April 27, 2026
Defend your CAMP against alien invaders in this ongoing limited-time showdown. Keep your CAMP turrets stocked and your score high to earn Rip Daring cosmetic rewards before the event closes April 27.
Minerva (List 7) — Last Full Day
April 6 – April 8, 2026
Minerva is at Fort Atlas (front entrance) through tomorrow — today is your last full day to browse List 7. She carries Settlers, Raiders, and Vault 79 plans at 25% off plus exclusive Daily Ops and former Nuclear Winter plans. Head to Fort Atlas now if you haven't visited yet.
Mutated Public Events — Starts Today
April 7 – April 14, 2026
Mutated Public Events begin at today and run through April 14. Every public event now has an active mutation, increasing difficulty but also boosting loot quality. This week is the ideal time to knock out the "Complete a Mutated Public Event (x3)" weekly challenge.
Dotted Axolotl Season — Starts Today
April 7 – May 5, 2026
The April Dotted Axolotl is catchable starting today through May 5. Find it in the Mire and Burning Springs regions using Small Fish lure bait. The matching Dotted Axolotl plushie is also free to claim in the Atomic Shop starting today.
Today's Daily Ops
| Mode | Decryption |
| Location | Charleston Capitol Building |
| Enemies | Scorched |
| Mutations | Savage Strike, Active Camouflage |
Mutation breakdown:
- Savage Strike — Scorched deal significantly increased melee damage; closing to melee range is dangerous and enemies hit much harder on contact
- Active Camouflage — Scorched can turn invisible mid-combat, making targeting difficult; use area-of-effect attacks and audio cues to locate them when they vanish
Strategy: Run ranged builds today — Savage Strike makes melee engagement punishing and Active Camouflage punishes players who rely on sight-based targeting. In Decryption mode you must defend the Assaultron unit while it decrypts enemy data, so designate one player to escort the bot while others intercept Scorched before they close in. Bring fire-resistant armor or use Fire Resistant perks since Scorched frequently use incendiary attacks; the Capitol's interior corridors also limit sightlines, so be alert for cloaked Scorched flanking from side passages.
Today's Daily Challenges
| Challenge | SCORE |
|---|---|
| Gold Star: Complete a Daily Challenge (x6) | 1000 |
| Eat a Cake, Pie, or Candy (x10) | 250 |
| Collect Pre-war Food (x5) | 250 |
| Complete a Daily Operation! | 250 |
| Cripple a Scorched's Arm (x2) | 250 |
| Eat Pre-war Food (x5) | 250 |
| Kill a Mutated Enemy (x10) | 250 |
| Scrap Pre-War Money (x5) | 250 |
Quick completion tips:
- Gold Star unlocks after finishing 6 other dailies — chain the quick ones first to trigger it early
- Eat a Cake, Pie, or Candy (x10) — Carry Sweetroll or Mentats; crafting cheap Mentats at a chemistry station counts and you can craft 10 in one session
- Collect Pre-war Food (x5) — Pre-war food spawns in kitchen cabinets and cafeteria areas across any pre-war location; the Capitol and Whitespring hotel are reliable
- Complete a Daily Operation! — Today's Decryption run at Charleston Capitol counts and also progresses the Scorched arm cripple challenge simultaneously
- Cripple a Scorched's Arm (x2) — Target arms specifically in VATS; Scorched are the enemy type for today's Daily Ops, so knock these out in the same run
- Kill a Mutated Enemy (x10) — Any enemy with a mutation tag counts; Mutated Public Events launching today make this trivially easy alongside public event runs
- Scrap Pre-War Money (x5) — Pre-War Money is found in safes, registers, and desks at any pre-war building; it scraps directly at the junk tab
