Daily Fallout 76 Briefing - April 01, 2026
Mothman Equinox descends on Appalachia for a 24-hour window starting today — plus Decryption Daily Ops in the Glassed Cavern against invisible Fanatics, a fresh DLSS5 screenshot drop, and Jon Rush teasing Patch 76 headlines.
Active Events Today
Mothman Equinox
April 1 – April 2, 2026
Mothman Equinox is live starting and runs until — a tight 24-hour window, so hit Mothman events now to earn seasonal rewards before the reset. Cultist enemies are abundant during this event, which lines up perfectly with the weekly "Kill a Cultist (x25)" challenge.
Clay Axolotl (March Axolotl)
March 3 – April 7, 2026
Only 6 days remain to catch the Clay Axolotl in Skyline Valley and Toxic Valley — it only spawns on Small Fish. Don't miss it before it rotates out on April 7.
Today's Daily Ops
| Mode | Decryption |
| Location | Glassed Cavern |
| Enemies | Fanatics |
| Mutations | Savage Strike, Active Camouflage |
Mutation breakdown:
- Savage Strike: Enemies deal greatly increased melee damage — stay out of arms reach and avoid letting Fanatics close the gap.
- Active Camouflage: Enemies periodically cloak — use VATS to track them through invisibility, or listen for audio cues when targeting gets difficult.
Strategy: Decryption tasks you with hacking terminals while Fanatic waves pressure your position. Active Camouflage makes this op punishing for new players — bring a VATS build or high-accuracy weapon so you can lock on through cloaks. Savage Strike punishes melee fighting, so keep distance and kite between terminal interactions. Stack Luck perks before heading in for better loot rolls on completion.
Today's Daily Challenges
| Challenge | SCORE |
|---|---|
| Gold Star: Complete a Daily Challenge (x6) | 1000 |
| Eat a Cooked Meal (x10) | 250 |
| Collect Brain Fungus (x5) | 250 |

| Kill a Corrosive Stingwing (x5) | 250 |
Quick completion tips:
- Collect Brain Fungus + Cook Brain Fungus Soup: Knock both out at once — find Brain Fungus in cave areas near Huntersville or the Savage Divide, then cook at any station.
- Eat a Cooked Meal: Cook a stack of cheap food like Brahmin Meat or Steeped Ash Rose Tea to tick off 10 servings fast at any cooking station.
- Kill a Burning Radscorpion: The Ash Heap near slag piles reliably spawns burning Radscorpions; nuking the area also works if you have codes ready.
- Kill a Corrosive Stingwing: Head to the Cranberry Bog — Stingwings there frequently spawn with the corrosive mutation; the Whitespring area also works.
- Complete a Daily Operation: Running today's Glassed Cavern op ticks this challenge and counts toward Gold Star progress simultaneously.
