Daily Fallout 76 Briefing - March 25, 2026

Today's Daily Ops sends Dwellers into Vault 96 on Uplink mode against Swift-Footed Overgrown, Jon Rush teases that Patch 76 will make heads explode, and the community warns that today's Mutant Hound kill challenge is currently bugged.

Today's Daily Ops

ModeUplink
LocationVault 96
EnemiesOvergrown
MutationsPiercing Gaze, Swift-Footed

Mutation breakdown:

  • Piercing Gaze: Enemies detect you regardless of stealth — sneaky builds lose their edge entirely
  • Swift-Footed: Enemies move significantly faster than normal — they will close the gap before you expect it

Strategy: With stealth negated and enemies rushing you, ditch sneak-based tactics and bring area-of-effect weapons — flamers, grenade launchers, and auto-rifles shine against grouped Overgrown in Vault 96's corridors. Use chokepoints to funnel the Swift-Footed enemies rather than trying to outmanoeuvre them, and keep your distance after triggering a cluster to avoid being overwhelmed. A support build with crowd-control chems (Stimpaks, berry Mentats) can make a real difference for your team.

Today's Daily Challenges

ChallengeSCORE
Gold Star: Complete a Daily Challenge (x6)1000
Collect Ballistic Ammo (x20)250
Complete an Event while in a Team250
Kill a Mirelurk (x5)250
Kill a Mutant Hound (x3)250

Repair Armor, Weapons, or Power Armor (x5)250
Scrap junk to produce Acid (x5)250

Quick completion tips:

  • Collect Ballistic Ammo (x20): Killing enemies naturally drops ammo; craft rounds at an Ammo Factory or Chemistry Station if you're short.
  • Complete an Event while in a Team: Jump into any public event — Uranium Fever, Lode Baring, and Free Range all count and run frequently.
  • Kill a Mirelurk (x5): Head to Summersville Lake, the WV Lumber Co., or the Ash Heap's south shore for reliable Mirelurk spawns.
  • Kill a Mutant Hound (x3): ⚠️ Community reports indicate Mutant Hounds are currently bugged — see Reddit section below. Try Super Mutant camps at Huntersville or Lake Eloise where Hounds sometimes accompany groups.
  • Mod a piece of Armor (x5): Craft a few pieces of cheap leather or raider armor and mod them at an Armor Workbench to knock all five out in one visit.
  • Repair Armor, Weapons, or Power Armor (x5): Quickly repair gear at any workbench; fire a few shots to degrade weapons then repair — trivial to complete anywhere.
  • Scrap junk to produce Acid (x5): Scrap Abraxo Cleaner, Antiseptic, or Bloatfly Gland; kills at Flatwoods or the Ash Heap yield plenty of acid-producing junk.

Jon Rush about Patch 76: "Your Heads are going to explode"

Fallout 76 Creative Director Jon Rush attended a press event at Bethesda's Maryland studio and shared the game's future roadmap in an interview with Game Rant — big content updates will continue hitting in summer and winter, while spring and fall focus on expanding existing systems. He also teased Patch 76 (expected summer 2027), saying: "I know exactly what the 76th patch is, and your heads are going to explode when I'm able to talk about that."

Bigfoot throwing ticks?

Players are discovering that Bigfoot uses ticks as a throwable attack during encounters — good to know heading into events so you don't get caught off guard by the unexpected projectile. (259 upvotes)

Monongah got nuked and no one showed up. Thank you!

A player dropped a nuke on Monongah to spawn Earle Williams and found themselves soloing the fight — the post sparked a lively discussion about Earle solo strategies and the current ease of nuking with the improved reward loop. (250 upvotes)

Well Now I Want 4 Star Nuke Bosses

After seeing 4-star legendaries appear on event bosses like Bigfoot, the community is calling for the 4-star system to extend to nuke site bosses like Earle and the Scorchbeast Queen — a meaningful discussion about end-game loot progression. (161 upvotes)

The critoris on Bigfoot just doesn't exist in free fire

Critical hit builds lose their bonus against Bigfoot when in Free Fire mode — if you're running a crit-heavy setup, switch to a sustained-damage or VATS build for the Bigfoot encounter to maximise DPS. (126 upvotes)

Stop giving us the daily to kill mutant hounds when they are literally bugged

Today's "Kill a Mutant Hound (x3)" daily is drawing community frustration because Mutant Hounds are reportedly not spawning reliably due to a bug — if you're struggling to complete it, try Super Mutant-heavy areas like Huntersville or Lake Eloise and check back later as a server hop may help. Stay frosty out there, Dwellers — Vault 96 won't uplink itself, and if Jon Rush says your heads are going to explode, you'd best wear a helmet.
